Max Kretzschmar

The exciting attacking midfielder rejoined the Cards in the summer of 2018, becoming the fifth player to move from Hampton and Richmond to the Laithwaite Community Stadium alongside new manager Alan Dowson. Kretzschmar was an integral part of the Beavers side which reached the National League South play-offs during his single season with the club, scoring 20 goals in all competitions, including 16 in the league. It came as no surprise therefore when Dowse, who signed Kretzschmar from Woking in 2017, swooped for his signature once again. His first spell with Woking, who he joined from Wycombe Wanderers after more than 70 Football League appearances, was disrupted by injury. However, he still had time to catch the eye with a number of crucial goals, including against Dagenham and Redbridge on the last day of the season - the strike which helped the Cards escape relegation. A year on he's reiterated his desire to settle that unfinished business and truly make his mark with the club.
