Injuries Update from Andy Cook

David Holmes - 19th March 2009

I spoke this afternoon to Andy Cook for an update on the many injuries. He told me that Tom Hutchinson's post-operative rehab on his knee has gone well but that he has developed a groin problem which is not fully and finally diagnosed and may need a scan. Micah Hyde's achilles has shown some improvement but these injuries can take time.

Danny Bunce is now jogging with a little running. He is also passing a ball and playing 5 a side on a non-contact basis. His foot was x-rayed a couple of weeks ago and everything looked as it should at that time. He is experiencing a little aching after exercise and the injury will be monitored by a further x-ray in the near future. Joe Magunda, suffering from a similar metatarsal fracture, started jogging today.

Delano Sam Yorke began jogging on Monday having done a lot of non-impact work during recent weeks. Bradley Quamina has been doing some "good [rehab] work" and should rejoin the squad for training next week. Colin Miles (ankle problem) is rejoining the squad tomorrow with a view to possible availability on Saturday. Paolo Vernazza is back in training while Abdou El-Kholti is expected to play in the County Cup game this evening.

Many thanks to Andy for this update.
