Woking v Fulham XI
Brian Caffarey - 20th July 2009
Match PreviewWOKING v FULHAM XI
7.45pm on Tuesday 21 July 2009
The Cards’ first home friendly of the season sees the visit of a Fulham XI. The Cottagers’ first team is away at Bournemouth the same evening, so we can expect to see a side composed of reserves and youth team players.
WOKING
Cards fans will hope to get a first look at new loan signing, striker Luke Medley, who was unavailable for Saturday’s friendly at Kingstonian, which the home side won 2-0. Graham Baker played a different side in each half, with the exception of Ross Worner in goal, who appeared in both line-ups. All the new signings made an appearance apart from Medley and Sam Sloma, and there were several trialists on view plus a few Academy players. Of the new signings, Harry Arter and Mark Ricketts caught the eye in the first half. In the second half trialist Jake Reid was prominent but it was Academy graduate, the powerful Joe McNerney, who came closest to opening Woking ’s account.
FULHAM
We don’t have details yet of the Fulham side but a possible inclusion is Joe Anderson, who played for Woking in the latter part of last season and who impressed with his calmness and good left foot in the left back role. He has since been given a professional contract by Roy Hodgson and added to the Fulham squad.
