Fun Evening In Prospect
Brian Caffarey - 24th July 2009
WOKING v WOKING AND MAYBURY SPORTS CLUB7.45pm on Friday 24 July 2009
ADMISSION FREE
This should be a fun evening, with the local Asian community expected to turn out in force to cheer on WMSC. Admission is free but there will be a collection for the Joshua Deller Appeal
WOKING
The Cards are expected to field a young Academy side. This will provide a great opportunity for Woking fans to see some of the players who might be the next to come off Graham Baker’s production line, which has already produced the likes of Gez Sole, Charlie Moone and Daniel Sintim.
WOKING AND MAYBURY SPORTS CLUB
Last season’s corresponding fixture produced a great atmosphere. Cheered on by their enthusiastic supporters, WMSC stretched the Woking side in the first half before tiring legs, and the injection of young Academy legs into the home side, enabled the Cards to run out 7-0 winners.
JOSHUA DELLER APPEAL
Joshua (pictured) lives in Woking. He is just over a year old and suffers from neuroblastoma, a rare and often fatal childhood cancer. Treatment which may help him is available in the USA but is hugely expensive.and both clubs wish all proceeds to go to his Appeal. Woking Fire Brigade are also associating themselves with the game and the attempt to raise funds for Joshua. Further details about Joshua’s appeal can be found at www.joshua-appeal.org
P.S. Don’t forget that the Cards are at AFC Totton tomorrow (Saturday) and then at home to Aldershot Town next Tuesday evening.
