Weston-super-Mare v Woking
7.45pm on Tuesday 18 August 2009

The Cards travel down to Weston-super-Mare today to take on a side which has lost its opening three games. Graham Baker won’t see this as an easy trip but will surely be disappointed to come away without three points.

WOKING

I spoke to Graham this morning for an update. There are no injury worries apart from the continuing absence of Jon Boardman. The team will be travelling down to Weston early and hope to have time for a stroll – not sure about a paddle! – before the game. We assume they won’t be strolling during it!

Graham sounded confident but is expecting Weston-super-Mare to make it tough for us, as Worcester City did on Saturday.

WESTON-SUPER-MARE

Weston-super-Mare began the season with a defeat thanks to a last-minute goal at home to newly-promoted Staines Town. This was followed by a 2-1 reverse at Frank Gray’s Basingstoke Town. On Saturday they travelled to Thurrock and went down by the same margin.

GETTING THERE

See the details in yesterday’s news item. Too late now to catch the coach!

RESERVE GAME THIS EVENING

See news item to the right for fixture details.

Graham tells me that Jerome Maledon, Joe McNerney and Charlie Moone will all start tonight, with the rest of the side comprising Academy players.

Come on, you Cards! (in both games!)
