Woking gain a point

Weston-super-Mare 1 Woking 118 August 2009
The Cards failed to make their greater possession pay this evening at Weston-super-Mare and, in the end, had to come back from 1-0 down to share the points.
Graham Baker made one change from the side which played Worcester City, Craig Watkins replacing Luke Medley.
The best chance in the first half fell to Gez Sole but his effort was saved by the home side’s keeper when Moses Ademola was probably better placed.

The second half started badly for the Cards, with Holgate scoring a fine goal only three minutes after the break, firing home from 25 yards, giving Ross Worner no chance. Gez Sole came close to equalising a few minutes later, drawing an excellent save from Sawyer. The keeper then foiled Sam Sloma and Harry Arter as he continued to repel the frequent Cards’ attacks.
The pressure eventually paid off as Arter (pictured) seized on a half-clearance in the 73rd minute to level the scores at 1-1. Woking continued to have much more of the play but could not create the chance needed to gain all three points in spite of a late claim for a penalty after Sam-Yorke had been fouled in injury time.
