Woking Reserves 4 Crowborough Athletic Reserves 0
Suburban Football League Southern Division
29th August 2009
A very young reserves side provided fans with an entertaining first half display on Saturday, which in the end was sufficient to secure the points and maintain second place in the table.
The first goal came on seventeen minutes as Charlie Turnball delivered a great cross from wide right for Ben Akwuegbu to coolly guide the ball wide of the Crowborough keeper. Some four minutes later a second cross from Charlie Turnball again found Ben Akwuegbu, this time guiding his header into the far corner of the goal.
The third goal on forty minutes was a ‘corker’. Luke Baker drilled a cross-field pass into the path of Ola Sogdanmu, who cleverly chested the ball forward and fired a tremendous shot into the roof of the net from 15 yards out.

The second period was a little flat in patches but the game was certainly lit up by the fourth and final goal. Luke Baker did well to hold up the ball wide right and then slid it into the path of Michael Boateng on the overlap. Boateng whipped the ball in early to Josh Coke, who fired the ball into the bottom left-hand corner of the goal.
Next game for the reserves is Wednesday 2nd September at home to Godalming Town – k.o. 7.30pm.
