Molesey 1 Woking 4FA Youth Cup 2nd Qualifying Round
5 October 2009
The Youth Team advanced to the 3rd Qualifying Round – where they will travel to the winners of the Croydon Athletic v Ashford Town (Middx) tie – with a well-deserved win over an obdurate (but ultimately ill-disciplined) Molesey side this evening.
The Cards took a fourth-minute lead through a Callum Eagle header but failed to capitalise on their dominance until seven minutes after the break when Ola Sogbanmu – scorer of two goals in the Cards’ 5-1 FA Cup victory over Hythe Town – pounced on a Rob Carr pass to angle past the keeper. The home side reduced the deficit with a debatable penalty but Ola restored the two-goal gap quickly as he took advantage of a goalkeeping error to calmly slot home. Woking made the game safe with a goal from Rob Carr after substitute Will Hammond had pulled the ball back from the bye line.
