Woking 8 Cobham 1
Suburban League, Southern Division
6 October 2009
This fixture provided the opportunity for Jon Boardman to get a good run out on his road to full fitness. He led the team by example, encouraging the reserves to get the ball down and play from the first minute. There were some encouraging phases of play, together with a bevy of nine goals to savour, including a couple of spectacular 30 yard strikes from Ashley Groombridge.
Woking scorers: a brace from each of Ashley Groombridge, Matty Powell and Josh Coke was added to by one-a-piece from Gavin Miller and Ramon Whorms.
MOTM: A number of contenders but Matty Powell just edges the award ahead of Ashley Groombridge.
Squad: Ali Turpie, Matt Ellis, Jon Boardman, Daniel Sintim, Michael Boateng, Ashley Groombridge, Luke Baker, Adegoke Adetunji, Josh Coke, Matt Powell, Gavin Miller.
