Woking v Thurrock - In Memory of Phil Ledger

12:13pm, Sun 31st Jan 2010
Our game v Thurrock on Saturday 6th February is dedicated to both Phil’s memory and as a celebration of his life. The Programme will dedicate eight pages of coverage, the team will wear shirts embroidered with Phil’s name, and the match will be attended by Phil’s family and friends, representatives from the Conference, Football Association and from other clubs.

Woking’s Mayor, Cllr Tina Liddington will also be attending, along with Cllr. John Kingsbury who is the Leader of the Executive and Conservative Group Leader, Woking Council’s Chief Executive Ray Morgan and Deputy Chief Executive Douglas Spinks.

There will be a minute’s silence just before the game.

Phil would also want us to mention the importance of the game itself! A top of the table clash at a critical stage of the season for both clubs.

We recommend that you arrive early, as we are expecting a big crowd, with many fans bringing along family and friends who will be new to Kingfield.
In addition to his time as a player, Phil dedicated 43 years of his life to our club and to the Woking community.
We hope that as many people as possible will take this opportunity to come and pay their respects to a truly remarkable man.

Phil's many, many friends in football may wish to leave personal messages on the Online Book of Condolences.
