Thursday 1st April 2010
The Woking youngsters won the game 4-3 on penalties after the fixture remained goalless at both 90 and 120 minutes.
It was not possible to play a passing game on the difficult surface. Woking created the lions share of chances in front of goal but were unable to capitalise and after a combative 120 minutes the teams faced penalties.
Woking missed their first two but then went on to score the next three, with goals from Dan Seabrook, Anson Cousins and George Frith whilst at the same stage Matt Pegler (pictured) in goal had saved two of the five Fleet efforts leaving the teams on level pegging (no pun intended) after five attempts. Fleet were up next and Matt Pegler made another save meaning Woking would win if they scored - Ola Sogbanmu stepped up and duly obliged to put Woking in the hat for the Quarter Finals.
MOTM: Three penalty saves and a couple of other important saves during normal time gets Matt Pegler the nod although the quality work rate of Jack Blatchford and George Frith in midfield are certainly worthy of note.
