Woking FC Press Statement

2:00pm, Mon 6th Sep 2010
Chairman Chris Ingram has announced his plans for restructuring the Board of Woking FC.

His intention is to reduce the present Board of six (including the shareholder elected) to four.

“The over-riding challenge for the immediate future is to ensure the financial viability of the Club. From now until the end of the year, we have to focus single-mindedly on financial performance.

This is not just about minimising costs but also maximising our income in any way we sensibly can. We need to go into next season with a clear idea of the level at which we can operate, both on and off the pitch. My plan is to have a smaller Board to achieve this, supported by small project teams, fully empowered to tackle specific aspects of running and building the Club.

Jane Spong and David Taylor have agreed to help Chris by standing down from the Board to facilitate this. Chris has asked them to retain their respective responsibilities, Jane for Community and day to day responsibilities and David for co-ordinating Communications.

Chris thanks both Jane and David for their ongoing work and contribution.
