Supporters help needed on Saturday for the Woking FC Christmas Community Project

Each year Woking players, fans, staff and directors join together to help local children who are unfortunate enough to be sick and in hospital. The first team squad visit St Peters, the Royal Surrey and Christophers Hospice to distribute gifts to the children and their parents. In the case of ‘Christophers’ the children are not expected to live beyond their teens. It is hard to convey how moving and valued these visits can be - last year one young lad from the Hospice didn’t take his newly acquired Woking shirt off for a week – even going to bed in it; a young girl at the hospital just kept playing with the small signed ball she had been given. In addition to the Woking items we have donated DVD players and Wii consoles in the past for the wards. It is a hugely valuable initiative – doing something so simple which makes a big difference.

At this Saturday's home game we have a bucket collection for the Woking Christmas Project and we need a team, ideally of 6 volunteers, who can help. It involves being at the club at about 2.15 pm.

If you can help please email me on iannicholson@matrixtrust.com or ring me on my mobile 07976351891

Also please give generously on the day – our target is to raise £1000 for the Project.
