Woking FC - Behaviour Policy

Mike Smith - Chairman
6:12pm, Fri 30th Dec 2011
The Board of Directors of Woking Football Club would like to thank everyone for their fantastic support so far this season, both home and away. The bumper attendance on Boxing Day shows just how far we have progressed and re-affirms our credentials as a respected club, welcoming everyone who wants to enjoy their football in the true spirit of friendship, which includes good humour and reasonable behaviour.

Recently, a very small minority of individuals have demonstrated a total disregard for the club and team they claim to support, through their repetitive bad behaviour and use of foul, deeply offensive and abusive language, particularly at away games.

Woking Football Club has refused entry to Kingfield to two individuals for the entire season whose conduct and behaviour have no place in any community, let alone modern football. Sadly events at Dartford and Thurrock have led the Board to turn away another individual who will no longer be welcome at home games. The message cannot be clearer to this group; moderate your behaviour or go away! Woking Football Club does not need you or want you!

Recognising that admission to away games is entirely a matter for the host club, the board has unanimously decided to share information with all clubs we visit, including photographs, of the individuals who have been refused entry to Kingfield. Furthermore, the club will now help other clubs and the authorities to identify individuals who are known to cause trouble or whose behaviour is found to be unacceptable to the club.

To that end officials at Farnborough have been advised of the club's stance in writing and CCTV footage from the Dartford game (also requested by Kent Police) is currently being studied by the club. Please let the club know if you witness incidents or bad behaviour. Anyone "identified" as bringing the club into disrepute will be turned away from Kingfield.

The Board would like to stress that it is not prepared to let the actions of so few bring down the positive club reputation so many are building.
