The Cards Trust Board

As part of its service to both Members, and supporters in general, the Cards Trust organises coach trips to away matches. In the past, we have tried to have a coach available for all away League games, as well as important Cup games, such as the F.A. Cup, although this has not always been possible with re-arranged matches disrupted by the weather and other short notice changes.
Our overall aim has been to ensure that, over the season, the cost of providing the coaches breaks even, but, unfortunately, last season a significant loss was made as a result of poor usage to certain games. This was despite cancelling some trips that had very low bookings and the use of a minibus for some other journeys. Whilst we are anxious to continue to provide a coach service for away games, we recognise that the majority of our Members expect our funds to be used to provide more tangible support to Woking F.C. Consequently, we have agreed as a Board to provide a programme of coach trips to those games which previous experience has shown to be viable in terms of the demand for places on the coaches. This means that certain longer distance trips scheduled for Tuesday evenings, and a limited number of trips on Saturdays, which have been poorly used in the past, will not be operated this coming season.
However, we intend to be as responsive as possible to demand, and if it becomes clear that enough supporters want to travel to matches that we have not included in our programme that would make them financially viable, we will consider reinstating them. For example, we have had requests for a coach to the game against Wrexham on Saturday, 30 August, and we are inviting those interested to register at the Club Shop – we will then take a decision on whether we can justify this trip at the home game on Bank Holiday Monday, 25 August. Of course, the popularity of travel to away games is influenced by the success of the team, so we really hope that demand increases a lot as the season progresses! The table below shows the matches for which we are planning to provide coaches. Despite rising costs, we have been able to keep the prices charged either the same or only slightly more than last season.
