Volunteers' Evening

John Moore
11:59pm, Tue 7th Jun 2016
Over fifty volunteers attended an open evening at Woking Football Club tonight. The Cards Trust had put on the event as a thank you for their support of the club.

Rosemary Johnson, the new chairman of the football club, welcomed everyone and reiterated how important the volunteers are to the club. Rupert Phillips, Chairman of the Trust, as well as praising the volunteers and the work of the Trust, asked for new volunteers to come forward to fill various roles including doing the PA on match days, helping out in the board room, selling Goldrush tickets etc.

There was also a lovely surprise when the club's manager Garry Hill made an appearance. He again thanked all the volunteers for all their hard work and support and said how much this meant to him and Steve Thompson. He then answered a variety of questions regarding the playing squad in his usual open and honest style.

The evening concluded with the 400 Club draw, with first prize of £100 going to Liz Coley, £75 to J Charteris Black, and £50 to Andy Vicos..
