Christmas is just around the corner and, as usual, Woking FC will be a hive of activity with schools events, community initiatives, hospital visits and a first – a town centre carol service and ‘meet the players’ event on 21st December.
Hospitals
The hospital visits have been an annual feature in the player’s calendar for 9 years and are always highly valued and moving as we take gifts to St Peters and the Royal Surrey children’s wards. Over the years we have distributed games consoles, DVD’s, dozens of jigsaws, board games and a shedload of cuddly toys! The players sign cards, pose for photos and are always a hit with the kids, parents and nurses! There is always a lot of laughter - and occasionally a few tears as well.
The funds for the gifts for the children is raised in 2 ways
- The players raise a few hundred pounds through the first team squad
- We have a Christmas bucket collection where all proceeds from fans go to the Christmas activities. This year this will take place at the Peterborough cup game on Sunday 3rd December – please give as generously as you are able
Also if you have any toys (they must be new and ideally in their packets) you would like to contribute please leave them in the club shop between now and the 20th December and we will get them there
Christmas Cardinals
Following 2 highly successful Christmas events at the ground in previous years this year we are relocating on the evening of 21st December to the heart of Woking, Jubilee Square, for an open air carol event and opportunity to meet the players and management.
There will be interviews, games, carols and readings, KC Kat, displays, autograph opportunities, a school choir, a barbecue – all accompanied by the Salvation Army brass band. We also want to see if any youngsters have better skills than the players
So put it in the diary, come down and bring your family and friends – please dress festively and in club colours if you can. There will be a prize for the best Christmas and Woking FC themed outfit.

Lets make it a Christmas to remember – both on and off the pitch
