Woking Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Ian Gayle, subject to FA approval.

Ian, 25, is a centre-back who started his career at Dagenham & Redbridge in 2010, he made 10 appearances in League Two and had loan spells at St Neots Town, Grays Athletic, Kingstonian, Histon, Whitehawk, St Albans City, Bishop's Stortford, and Welling United.

In 2016 he joined Braintree Town, making 22 appearances in the Vanarama National League. At the start of last season he joined Welling United in the National League South, before signing for Wealdstone in January.

Ian said: "I know Dowsey quite well as I used to play for him, he approached me, this is a big club, big opportunities. I like Dowsey's style, he's a very passionate manager."

Dowse commented: "I've known him a long time, he came to me a few years ago when he was a young kid at Dagenham, I think we need his pace & his power in the squad. There was a couple of clubs that came in for him so we're delighted to get him. I saw him play last season against Hampton & Richmond, he did very well and I went to see him play at Havant & Waterlooville and thought he was excellent. I just think we need a bit of pace & power in the side, plus a lad who's played Football League games and got experience at this level."

We welcome Ian to the Cards!
