We trust this brief update finds you and your loved ones well and enjoying an Easter weekend, albeit in lockdown.
Some may have heard that Dowse picked up the virus nearly 3 weeks ago and has been pretty poorly; this involved a brief stay in hospital when things were at their peak. He would like to reassure everyone that he is now on the mend, going for short walks, and over the worst. His message to the rest of us is to follow the guidelines and stay at home as ‘it’s not worth it’. While we know of a few supporters who have had the virus thankfully those we have heard from have all come through fine.
There is still a lot of National League discussion as to how this season will play out – whether the season will be resumed or, if it ends prematurely, how the final positions will be decided. We will keep you updated as we hear.
In terms of financial help for clubs from the football authorities all that has been confirmed so far is an advance on a solidarity payment clubs would normally get in a few months’ time. Again we are hoping for more clarity soon.
It has been a good exercise for a small team to ring our senior fans and check they are ok and getting good support. The good news is that the vast majority are well and have good community networks looking out for them. It was also fascinating hearing many Woking related stories of years gone by!
