For those of you who tuned into our first ever live stream on #CardsLive I hope you enjoyed the majority of the content and of course, the 3 points!
We are aware that there were several technical issues during the stream, namely an issue with the commentary in the first half that our stream team were able to partly-rectify and upon investigation we will be acquiring a new bit of equipment that should eliminate this issue in the future.
Clearly the bigger problem was the intermittent stream for around 15 minutes at the start of the second half and then some slow connectivity for a further 5 minutes. The loss of stream was due to an issue with our service provider and we will be discussing this with them first thing Monday morning.
In honesty I think they were caught out by the volume of bandwidth they would have to provide for us and other clubs up and down the country using their service who also suffered the same issue at the time, in no way is this an excuse and we will be working with them to ensure it does not happen again. This led to the slow connection as our onsite team were editing the two WFC goals to allow a playback during breaks in play once the stream was back online, in future this editing will be carried out on a separate laptop.
From the comments I have seen I think the majority of our fans appreciate the expertise and efforts of our stream team and we thank you for your patience and understanding. Several of you have questioned our pricing structure, I am confident that when you have viewed some of our away matches you will see why we are at the higher end of the spectrum. I doubt many streams will offer multi-camera angles, commentary and replays however we will be reviewing all aspects of the stream on a match by match basis.
To those of you who signed up for Saturday’s stream, an exclusive extended highlights package will be available on Monday morning, along with a pitch side highlights video, whilst a shorter highlights package will be available for free on YouTube.
