New Community facility given the green light

12th February 2019
After a few years planning, and a lot of hard work by all parties, Woking Borough Council’s Executive agreed on February 7th to proceed with a new community sports facility - a partnership between Woking College, the Borough Council and the community arm of Woking FC, which is currently being formed into a new, standalone charity 'Cardinals in the Community’ with its own Board of Trustees.

The facility will include a floodlit 3G pitch, changing rooms, meeting rooms and an office for Cardinals in the Community who will manage the facility on behalf of the Council. It will also be a base for their award winning, Borough wide community schemes and a great facility for the students of Woking College. In keeping with its broader community vision Woking FC will continue to work hard to support Cardinals in the Community and the facility. It is envisaged that many local youth and community sports teams will use the pitches and all parties are excited to see this exciting initiative get the go ahead.
