Woking Football Club Player of the Decade

Nick Shaw - 31st December 2019
Woking Football Club is delighted to announce that you, the fans, have chosen Giuseppe Sole as your Player of the Decade!

Gez is a true Woking legend, remembered by the Cards' fans for scoring some unbelievable free-kicks this decade, scoring that header away at Luton, and that record-breaking goalscoring run in our 2011/12 season which included the winner away at Maidenhead that clinched the title and promotion back to the National League.

The voting was very close at times, with Gez receiving 37% of the votes at the end, ahead of Kevin Betsy (31%) in 2nd place, and Mark Ricketts (18%) in 3rd place.

This rounds off a month of voting that saw the 2016/17 Home kit voted as Kit of the Decade, 2018/19 was your Season of the Decade, our promotion semi-final at home to Wealdstone was the Match of the Decade, Gez's free-kick at Halifax was your Goal of the Decade, and the following made the Team of the Decade:

Nathan Baxter
Adam Newton
Josh Casey
Joe McNerney
Tom Hutchinson
Mark Ricketts
Keiran Murtagh
Kevin Betsy
John Goddard
Jack Marriott
Giuseppe Sole

We would ask all who support the new Woking Community Stadium regeneration to take a minute to show their support by signing here -

This is open to anyone, so if you know people who are supportive and may not see this please let them now how they can respond.

It is important that in the coming weeks we demonstrate what the future sustainability of the club means to us but also the town of Woking.

Note if for any reason you are currently overseas please enter your location rather than postcode.
