Coaching Vacancies with the Woking Football Club Academy.
Due to the continued expansion of the Woking Youth Academy opportunities have arisen for additional part-time coaching staff for the 2008-09 season.
All applicants must hold a current UEFA 'A' licence. However, qualified UEFA 'B' coaches working towards their 'A' Licence will be considered.
Successful applicants will be required to undergo the enhanced CRB check and references will be taken up.
Woking FC have run a Youth team for many years. However, in 2003 the Club established a collaboration with Woking College with the express aim of helping talented young footballers to make progress in their sporting careers whilst continuing with their academic studies. The programme generally involves studying for the BTEC National Diploma in Sport alongside a regime of high-intensity football training.
Season 2007/08 was one of exciting and significant change; the Academy was expanded and began operating out of both Woking and Merrist Wood Colleges. Managing two u18 and two u19 teams in just two different Leagues restricted us to keeping boys separately registered, which in itself regularly prevented us from playing the strongest boys together as a group. This will change for next season. Going forward, we will now have some 80 boys in the system and running five teams: there will be one team in the u18 Southern Youth League; one in the u18 Ryman Youth League, two in the u19 Football Conference Youth League; and, in addition, further to our collaboration with another senior club, we will be managing an adult side. These arrangements will enable us to have a more flexible approach and will assist in the continuing development of players within the Academy.
If you are interested in joining the coaching staff at Woking FC, apply in writing, enclosing your CV and two references. The envelope should be marked:
