Injuries Update from Andy Cook

Woking FC Sports Therapist Andy Cook spoke today about the progress being made by three injured players, Delano Sam Yorke, Danny Bunce and Tom Hutchinson.

He told the website that Delano is suffering from shin splints, but the condition is improving. It has to be managed carefully as it can still flare up again. Delano is working in the gym on a static bike, the rowing machine and is swimming to maintain fitness.

Danny Bunce suffered an awkward landing during the game at Cambridge and had pain in his first metatarsal. Danny?s foot has been x-rayed and unfortunately he has a fracture in that bone near the joint. Danny's foot has not been put in plaster but is in a "walking boot". This will mean that he is able to keep his ankle joint flexible while the facture heals. He will be doing as much as possible to retain fitness - eg static bike work in the gym - while he recovers. The standard time for this is 6-8 weeks.

Meanwhile Tom Hutchinson is ?doing quite a bit.? He is completing strength, agility and quickness drills; focussing on quadriceps work in the gym; and has been doing shuttle runs and even some longer runs. He is still, however, a couple of weeks away from full training.

Thanks to Andy for this update.
