Phil's Thoughts on Tuesday

Below are extracts from ?Phil?s  View? that will appear in Saturday?s match day programme. Buy the programme to read Phil?s analysis of what went wrong against Eastbourne and his in-depth thoughts about Gez Sole?s loan to Ebbsfleet.

?Tuesday night?s result and performance were bitterly  disappointing.   What particularly concerned me was that too many players did not display the work rate and effort that I as their Manager and you, as the fans, have the right to expect.  That is simply unacceptable and I have made that clear to the players concerned.

I am continuing to work very hard to bring in new players.   I am glad to say that I do now have a bit of scope financially to do that, partly as a result of agreeing to Gez Sole?s loan move to Ebbsfleet United.   But my scope would be greater were it not for the fact that existing players are on contract and are often reluctant to move to another club for less money.  Nevertheless, changes will be made.

I appreciate how difficult it must have been for Woking fans watching Tuesday night?s game.  Please keep up your support in these testing times.?
