The Cards travel to Thatcham Town on Thursday evening for another pre-season friendly.

WOKING

Graham Baker had originally intended to play his ‘first choice’ team for 45/60 minutes at Thatcham but changed his mind after the hard game against Aldershot Town on Tuesday night. A number of players had ‘bumps and bruises’ and he is concerned not to pick up more injuries than necessary. He will also want to play a strong side against Stevenage Borough on Saturday (the second of his two ‘benchmark’ games). So, the Cards’ line-up will now be a mix of substitutes from Tuesday night (i.e. Charlie Moone, Anson Cousins, Joe McNerney, Daniel Sintim, Billy Hussey) and Academy players. But trialist keeper Rodney Chiweshe from Godalming Town is expected to start.

THATCHAM TOWN

Thatcham are in the same league as AFC Totton and should present a similar challenge. So far, they have beaten Milton and Highdown Town in pre-season friendlies but lost 2-1 at home to Didcot Town on Saturday. The club was promoted from the Wessex League to the Southern League in 2005/06. Last season they finished 6th in the Southern League Division One South and West, missing the play-off positions by five points. The Blues are managed by Gary Ackling.
