Laithwaite Independent Financial Advisers

Saturday's matchday programme

Brian Caffarey
6:13am, Fri 30th Oct 2009
We’ve got another excellent matchday programme lined up for you this Saturday.

Some of the highlights include:

Pages 7-8 – In the latest of the ‘Meet the Board’ series Brian Caffarey profiles Peter Sheppard, Finance Director, who highlights the Board’s focus on the long-term health of the Club:

“We have set ourselves a challenging agenda but the absolute imperative, of course, is to make sure the Club not only survives but also that the foundations are laid for the future long-term prosperity of the Club. We all know that we need to produce more income and all members of the Board are devoting a good deal of time and effort to achieve this from commercial and fundraising activities.

Page 20 – Tom Barnardo reminds us of a game 20 years ago when the Cards were scoring goals for fun.

Page 21 – Lewis Hulatt profiles Ross Worner and finds that our hugely-promising young keeper is much happier this season:

“Ross confirms that the atmosphere is much improved this season – the team are happy training and they positively want to please the manager. Asked if this Graham Baker was just a playful puppy-dog, Ross admitted that the Gaffer had a growl at them if they deserved it and indeed could ‘go off on one’ like any manager when they let him down. He had walked the walk himself and they respected him.

Pages 24-25 – Double-page photo of Ross with space for an autograph

Page 29 – Brian Caffarey previews our FA Cup tie next Saturday at Swindon Town

Page 33 – Dennis North brings us up to date with all the action at reserve and Academy level, including the Youth Team’s fine achievement in reaching the First Round Proper of the FA Youth Cup. (Don’t forget their match at home to Dagenham and Redbridge next Wednesday evening!)

Pages 36-37 – KC Kat gets excited about the next World Cup in South Africa

And, of course, the rest of the programme is packed full with all the usual reports, previews, statistics and great photos.
