Dorking v Woking
Surrey Senior Cup 2nd Round
7.45pm on Tuesday 5 January 2010

Weather permitting, we begin this season’s Surrey Senior Cup campaign with a visit to Dorking on Tuesday evening. The winners will be at home to Merstham in the next round.

WOKING

Graham Baker has made it clear that he will be giving an opportunity to squad players who’ve not been playing regularly plus some Academy players. On that basis, we can expect to see appearances from the likes of Nicky Nicolau, Joe McNerney, Daniel Sintim, Sam Sloma, Jamie Hand, Jerome Maledon, Luke Medley, Charlie Moone and Delano Sam-Yorke. Academy candidates presumably include keeper Matt Pegler, strikers Ola Sogbanmu and Ollie Palmer, Anson Cousins and central defender Aaron Gough but there must be plenty of other Youth Team players whom Graham will want to consider.

DORKING

The Chicks were promoted back to the Combined Counties Premier Division at the end of last season but currently linger in 20th place, with two wins, seven draws and eleven defeats so far. They have scored 21 league goals and conceded 51. Their last game was on 15 December, when they lost 1-0 at home to Molesey.

Tony Webb has recently stepped down as First Team Manager due to work commitments. Dave Argent, formerly Assistant Manager, has taken over the reins.

We last met Dorking in the 1993-94 season, winning 3-1 at home in the 1st Round of this competition. Clive Walker scored two goals and Scott Steele netted the third.

GETTING THERE

Dorking Football Club, Meadowbank, Mill Lane, Dorking, Surrey,
RH4 1DX

By car: from Kingfield take the A247 and then the A25, turning left at Mill Lane when you reach Dorking.

By train: it’s about a 10-minute walk from any of the three Dorking stations. Mill Lane is signposted from the town centre. The 18.43 from Woking, changing at Guildford onto the 19.10, will get you to Dorking Deepdene at 19.26. But trains back are difficult: look up www.nationalrail.co.uk for details.

The Supporters’ Club is not running a coach to this match.

Come on, you Cards!
