Thurrock Preview

Woking v Thurrock
3pm on Saturday 6 February 2010

Saturday’s game is dedicated to celebrating the life of Phil Ledger, who, I am sure, would have liked nothing better than to see Graham Baker’s side chalk up a win against fellow play-off contenders, Thurrock.

WOKING

I hope to get an update from Graham Baker later today but it seems certain that Mark Ricketts will be missing from the Cards midfield after picking up an ankle injury last Saturday at Braintree.

THURROCK

Having escaped relegation last season thanks only to Team Bath’s demise, Hakan Hayrettin’s side were expected to struggle again in this campaign but instead have been consistently challenging for a play-off place. They lie just two points behind the Cards going into Saturday’s game but lost 1-0 at Dorchester midweek.

Up front, strikers David Bryant, Fola Orilonishe and Leon McKenzie have been hitting the net regularly, whilst keeper Joe Woolley has also been in fine form.

Away from home Thurrock have won 4, drawn 4 and lost 5, with 17 goals scored and 18 conceded.

MATCHDAY PROGRAMME

There is a special matchday programme tomorrow to mark Phil’s contribution to the Club and to non-League football generally. If you are unable to attend the game, copies can be ordered from the Club Shop on shop@wokingfc.co.uk

Come on, you Cards!
