Woking 4 Basingstoke Town 2
20 March 2010
The Cards managed a win at last today – and a good win it was too! Craig Faulconbridge (pictured) opened the scoring in the first minute with a superb long-distance ‘lob’ which crept under the bar after the Basingstoke keeper had cleared poorly. Basingstoke bounced back with a terrific strike but on the stroke of half-time Gez Sole restored the lead with one of his classic free-kicks.
Basingstoke levelled the scores again early in the second half through Jahson Downes before Woking made it 3-2 with a lovely goal from Nathan Pinney, who’d been played in by an excellent Gez Sole pass. And then Gez made it 4-2 with a penalty after Moses Ademola had been brought down in the box.
