New Commercial Manager

Dave Riche has been appointed as the new Commercial Manager for Woking Football Club, with effect from 1st August 2010.

His mandate is to ensure success for the club’s commercial arm and open up new revenue streams. Dave is joining us after four years with Blue Square North side Hinckley United where he was responsible for generating off - field revenue at their Greene King Stadium site.

The 36 year-old who was originally born in Blackpool, was previously Commercial Manager at Nuneaton Borough and spent six years working in the media as sports editor and radio presenter.

He said: “Woking are a massive non-league football club with a huge fan base and it is my job to bring the money in off - field.

“The chairman impressed me with his plans for the future and he has given me a blank sheet of paper and asked me to fill it.

“I will be looking to obviously increase the traditional football commercial tools such as advertising boards, programme adverts and match sponsorship, but I also want to turn around the facilities at the club and bring in more conferences, party nights and look towards making the place an attractive proposition for functions

“The fan base all has families and friends and we want to offer them something at Woking that they want to come to and that does not just have to be for football.

“Obviously getting the football club more exposure in the community is something else that we want to do and although it will be a new area to me, I’m hopeful that people here will help me to bring the good times back to Woking Football Club.�
