Winchester City v Woking
Pre-season friendly
3pm on Saturday 17 July 2010

Saturday’s pre-season friendly at Winchester City is of more than usual interest for Cards fans since the Wessex League side are now managed by former Woking boss, Glenn Cockerill, who is no doubt delighted to back in football management after a long break following his departure from Kingfield some three years ago.

The Cards have started their pre-season campaign with away wins over Sevenoaks Town and Petersfield Town, with Graham playing the expected mix of squad players, triallists and Academy players. No doubt this will continue on Saturday.

Glenn Cockerill has brought in quite a few new faces over the summer in a bid to regain Winchester’s place in the Southern League. They include former Spurs and England youth team defender Leigh Mills and ex-Brockenhurst striker Ben Kneller. Cards fans won’t be surprised to learn that Liam and Sam Cockerill have also been training with the club.
