Woking FC can confirm that today, goalkeeper Ross Worner was transferred to Charlton Athletic for an undisclosed fee.
Ross has been with the club since the age of 14, starting off in the academy under Graham Baker. He made his first team debut aged 17 against Cambridge United in the Conference and last season was a regular in the first team making 52 appearances.
This move for Ross is recognition for all his hard work, and also that of the Club's coaching staff, who have overseen his development throughout his time with Woking FC. Everyone at the club wishes Ross all the very best for the future.
Chairman Shahid Azeem had this to say about Ross' transfer. "Ross has been very good news for Woking FC. He has worked hard at his game and been a great ambassador for our Club. We know he will do really well in the future, as he fully deserves."
Graham Baker added: “It has been a pleasure working with Ross, I have known him since he joined the academy at 14. He has been a great ambassador for both the academy and the first team. I hope that his career really takes off now at Charlton and that he has a long & successful career in professional football. Both myself and the coaching staff wish him all the best for the future.
