Dennis North - 4th September 2008

Wednesday 3rd September

If like Club Shop Jen you came along to support the Academy you were served up a fabulous feast of football. Not wishing to take anything away from a spirited Westfield side the Woking lads provided the spectators with a clinical and polished performance throughout.

2 minutes- a setfrom Sean Hickey led to a 30 yard effort from Kane Harrington that found the net via the left hand upright.

8 minutes - a Kane Harrington cross found Lewis Parish who fired home.

10 minutes - a Lewis Parish corner found Sean Hickey who volleyed a waist high ball high into the net.

32 minutes - Shaun Gadsby (left back) struck a right footed thunderbolt from 35 yards that flew into the top left hand corner of the net.

35 minutes - Josh Evans executed a delightful chip over the Westfield keeper.

38 minutes - Shaun Gadsby and Lewis Parish combined well down the left to provide a cross for Matt Kelly who made no mistake.

44 minutes - a Josh Evans assistfor Lewis Parish to volley home in some style.
Half time - Westfield 0 Woking 7

The lads took their foot off the pedal a little in the second period but there was still more action to come.

51minutes - Lewis Parish fired home bottom left.

62 minutes - Curtis Wayne assist for Lewis Parish to complete his hat-trick.

71 minutes - a Ben Choularton cross for Wayne Curtis to fire home.

Full time - Westfield 0 Woking 10

Often in these games one or two lads stand out buton this occasion every member of the squad played well with one or two outstanding performances.

In addition to those mentioned above; Patrick Kinsella, Callum Eagle and James Snishko were dominant and unrelenting at the back, whilst the pairing of Ashley Groombridge and Elliott Firth provided a tireless, classy and robust midfield engine. Will Hammond, Ben Choularton and Curtis Wayne came on in the second period and all of them acquitted themselves well.

Many claims for the Man of the Match award but two stood out: a fantastic Captain's performance from Ashley Groombridge was just edged on the night by a mesmerising display and a hat trick from:
