With the Conference South trophy proudly on display at the club’s annual dinner last weekend, it was a night to recognise various outstanding performances, which have contributed to a memorable season for the Cards.
The First Team Awards
Adam Newton picked up both the Manager's Player of the Season and the Players' Player of the Season awards. Adam made 38 starts in the league this season and, having taken over the captaincy of the side following Mark Ricketts injury last December, showed great leadership both on and off the pitch. Garry Hill said about his inspirational skipper: "He's been willing to help the other players with the experience he's gained over the years both on and off the field; it's an award that's richly deserved."

Alan Inns was presented with the Cards Trust Player of the Season and the Fans' Player of the Season. Alan missed the first couple of months of the season through injury, but returned to the side at the end of October and made 29 appearances in the league. He scored 4 goals in total, including 2 crucial headers in both matches against promotion rivals Dartford. Following in the footsteps of Steve Thompson and Kevin Betsy in winning the Cards Trust Player of the Season award, Alan commented: "I feel pretty old hearing that, but it's a good achievement, and I’m really happy. A lot of the credit has to go down to the team who have been fantastic. The team spirit this season is the one thing that's pulled us through with so many good players and so many good personalities and obviously Garry & Steve have been fantastic too."
