Woking Football Club Beer Festival - Tasting Notes

The Cards Trust are pleased to announce the beer list & tasting notes for the Woking Football Club Beer Festival taking place on Friday & Saturday.

Gates open at 6pm on Friday and 1pm on Saturday. Tickets cost £6 per session or £5 for Cards Trust Members / Season Ticket Holders.

Tickets can be purchased from the club shop during opening hours, or online from The Cards Trust website. Tickets purchased from today onwards can be collected on the day.

Tickets can also be purchased on the day at the gate.



Beer


Adnams Southwold 3.7
A beautiful copper-coloured beer, late and dry-hopped with Fuggles for a distinctive, lingering hoppiness.

B & T Black Dragon Mild 4.3
A Strong Dark mild with pronounced roast flavours. brewed using Pearl Pale Malt, Crystal Malt, Black Malt, Roast Barley and Wheat Malt. Hopped with Golding Hops.

B & T R101 4.7
This hoppy blonde coloured beer has a malty dry finish. Brewed to commemorate the last flight of the R101 airship which crashed in France in 1930.

B & T Shefford Bitter 3.8
A pleasant and well hopped session beer brewed using Pearl Pale Malt, Crystal Malt, Challenger Hops, Golding Hops and Fuggle Hops.

Butcoombe Gold 4.4
A refreshing golden bitter brimming with character…not to mention citrus hops and fruit. Made with 100% Maris Otter malt, and brewed using a single variety hop…English Fuggles.

Exmoor Fox 4.2
Four malts are mixed in the mash tun and deliver a graceful and sleek malty mouthfeel. Hops are Goldings, producing a burst of delicate citrus and slight spice on the mid-palate, and Progress, which soothes the finish with a soft bitterness, while more malt comes forth to produce a delicious and lingering bittersweet character.

Exmoor Gold 4.5
The first modern Golden 'single malt' Ale, with plenty of caramel malt balancing the grassy and floral hop. A bitter-sweet finish with hints of citrus fruitiness.

Fuller's Hope & Glory 4.7
A great traditional red bitter full of great malt flavours with excellent body and mouth feel. Delicate hop aromas from East Kent Goldings are present throughout with a fine bitterness lingering on the tongue.

Fuller's HSB 4.8
First brewed in 1959, HSB (Horndean Special Bitter) is an award-winning, distinctive, high quality premium bitter. It is full bodied and silky textured, with a hint of Dundee cake that leads to a rich, fruity taste and a silky smooth finish.

Fuller's Seafarer 3.6
The secret of the hugely satisfying, refreshing taste of this light, amber beer is in the blend of finest quality English malt, Admiral hops and the unique Gales yeast. Fuller's donates £5 for each barrel sold to Seafarers UK, the leading maritime charity.

Fuller's Spring Sprinter 4.0
A light zesty ale with a real spring in its step. Using Nelson Sauvin hops, harvested in New Zealand, this wonderful beer has subtle gooseberry flavours which are balanced perfectly with the biscuity sweetness from the English malts.

Fuller's Summer Ale
A light, smooth ale, pale gold in colour. Brewed with malted wheat for crisp, biscuity flavours, and balanced by dry Czech Saaz hops, this excellent ale delivers a wealth of flavours.

Hooky Bitter 3.6
A subtly balanced, golden bitter, hoppy to the nose, malty on the palate - the classic session beer.

Hooky Gold 4.1
 A modern, refreshing beer with a fruity aroma and a pleasant, light taste. A very pale, crisp beer, it confidently displays its hop character. It is the first Hook Norton beer to feature aromatic American hops.

Loddon Hoppit 3.5
East Kent Goldings hops traditionally have a Seville Orange marmalade flavour. As well as Pale Ale malt, Hoppit also contains dark Invert Sugar which gives the beer its smooth taste.

Loddon Hulabaloo 4.2
English Fuggles impart a dry, herby bitterness which is balanced by the distinctly biscuity flavour of Crystal and Amber malts. Rich, nutty and malty with a dry hop finish.

Oakham Inferno 3.8
This light, igniting ale flickers complex fruits across your tongue, leaving a dry, fruity, bitter finish, smothering your thirst.

Oakham J.H.B 3.8
A golden beer whose aroma is dominated by hops that give characteristic citrus notes. Hops and fruit on the palate are balanced by malt and a bitter base. Dry hoppy finish with soft fruit flavours.

Old Dairy Brewery Blue Top 4.8
Maintains the heritage of the famous India Pale Ales, strong and well hopped. A satisfying bitterness smoothly balanced with caramel flavours from the crystal malt and a hint of lemon from Styrian Golding hops.

St Austell Proper Job 4.5
An authentic IPA brewed with Cornish spring water and a blend of malts including Cornish Gold. Silver medal winner at Great British Beer Festival 2009.

Tring Bring Me Sunshine 4.4
If your preferred tipple is hoppy, then this brew will suit. Golden-brown in colour, it is brewed with citrus hops in abundance.

Tring Colley’s Dog 5.2
Dark ruby in colour but not over rich. Strong yet very drinkable, this premium ale has a long dry finish with overtones of malt and walnuts.

Tring Side Pocket For A Toad 3.6
Unmistakable citrus notes from only the best Cascade hops balanced with a floral aroma and crisp dry finish make this straw coloured ale a fantastic session beer.

Vale Black Beauty Porter 4.3
A traditional Thames Valley brown Porter. Roasted malt and coffee on the nose, smooth malt with liquorice and chocolate on the palate.

Vale Gravitas 4.8
A strong, pale ale packed with hop and Citrus flavours, rounded off by a dry malty biscuit finish. A pronounced hop aroma throughout.

Vale Wychert Ale 3.9
A traditional Thames Valley beer, excellent flavours are notable in this strikingly malty beer. With a finish of fruit and nut on the palate.


Cider


Thatchers Cheddar Valley Medium 6.0
The colour of this unique cider gives it a vibrant character all of its own. Naturally fermented, Cheddar Valley is matured in oak vats to ensure the distinctive full flavour is retained.

Westons H.C Perry 4.5
Refreshingly light, smooth and fruity. Using cider making expertise gained over 100 years to capture the subtle and delicious pear flavours.
