U19?s Football Conference Youth League
Only 1-0 at half time but the Woking youngsters came out for the second period and scored a further eight goals from twelve opportunities created, not a bad score line you might think, but add in a couple of shots that came off the post and a couple of good saves from the Thatcham keeper plus maybe another six or seven efforts that could have been converted in the first half and the final result might have been 20-0.
A second hat trick in back to back games from Nuno Gourgel plus one a piece from Reis Stanislaus and Joe Mcnerny would have been enough, however it was a determined and pacey display from super-sub Pekan Samsdeen who scored four goals in a 37 minute spell in the second period that provided us with the required demonstration in clinical finishing.
Generally sound performances across the board on a difficult surface, Joe Mcnerny was the pick of the bunch at the back, Sam Robinson showed some class in midfield whilst Jonny Targett constantly caused problems down the right flank, although Nuno Gourgel picked up another hat trick it was Pekan Samsdeen with his four goals and high conversion rate that caught the eye up front.
