Garry Hill & Steve Thompson
Woking Football Club is pleased to announce that Manager Garry Hill and Coach Steve Thompson have both readily agreed to roll on their contracts for a further 2 years from May, 2015.
The deal was sealed with a handshake prior to the Surrey Senior Cup Semi-Final game with Egham Town, awaiting pen to paper once this year's very successful season is completed.
Chairman Mike Smith commented: "Garry Hill and Steve Thompson have been first class since they joined Woking a little over 3 years ago, steering the club to a Conference South Championship, a Surrey Senior Cup win, a creditable 12th place finish on our return to the Conference Premier division last year; a fantastic run towards a play-off position, with the prospect of a top 10 finish; and another county cup final appearance for good measure.
The Board of Directors has conveyed to both Garry and Steve their warmest congratulations on this success and re-stated their importance to the club in helping to maintain stability, whilst we build for the future.
The board was equally keen to provide Garry and Steve with timely notice of its intentions, to allow planning for next season. The fact that the offer was tabled and immediately accepted demonstrates the strength of the relationship between us and the confidence that is building in our shared vision for the future."
Before tonight's fans' forum Garry commented: "Me and Steve are very happy at Woking Football Club and we are very pleased to have the opportunity to take this club forward and build on what we've achieved so far."
