Scott wins Vanarama Conference Player of the Month!

Vanarama are delighted to announce that the winner of the Vanarama Conference Player of the Month award for March is Scott Rendell of Woking.

On the announcement of the award Scott said: “Any personal recognition you get is always nice, but it goes without saying I couldn’t have done it without the boys.

It’s a personal accolade but it really could go to any one of us this month. We needed a big month and I played my part in that and obviously it showed. We’re a club that believe we can make the Play-Offs. It’s another big month ahead, and I’ll be looking to play my part and do the same again. I’m very, very honoured to have this award. I like to think that I bring more to the team than just goals. That’s been recognised this month which is very gratifying.�

Woking First Team Coach Steve Thompson added: “Scott has made a massive contribution to the team since he joined us. His goals per game ratio is top notch but not only that, he is a big, big influence in the changing room and he’s a great lad to have around the club.

Scott is a great target man who gives us that focal point to build attacks on, he brings people into play, his work rate is very, very good, so in all aspects he’s a wonderful player and person to have at Woking.�

The official awards panel said: “The Cards have had a remarkable month and maintained a consistent challenge to make the final Play-Off spot. Their push for promotion has been gathering pace with some excellent late wins. Whilst the winning strikes have been making the headlines, one player has been going about his work in a calm and controlled manner and has found the net five times to weigh in with other crucial goals. He suffered an injury setback earlier in the season but Scott and his manager Garry Hill have always believed in his talent and eye for goal. Only time will tell if the club will finish in the top five but one thing is for sure – the Vanarama Conference Player of the Month award for March is well deserved.�
