U19 FOOTBALL CONFERENCE YOUTH LEAGUE SEMI FINAL PLAY-OFFS

I have watched a lot of games but cannot remember a better game of football at any level being played at Kingfield this season. The quality on display was of the highest order and let there be no doubt ? these Woking youngsters put on a performance bristling with class, passion and desire that deservedly earned them a place in the final.

A brilliant David Shin pass from wide right 10 minutes into the second half found Ross White whose outstanding first time effort flew high into the Stevenage net from 18 yards out. Then with just a couple of minutes remaining the powerful Saheed Sankoh surged past the Stevenage defence and coolly passed the ball home despite the clawing hand of the Boro? keeper.

Congratulations to the team and to Graham Baker - every single Woking player was up for this game - there was not a poor performance in sight.

To pick out one player from this game for the Man of the Match Award would be an injustice to the rest, this was truly one of the best team displays of the season.

So the best Youth team performance of the year (so far) goes to:

Squad: Ben Zatwardnicki, Carlos Talbot, Kevin Maclaren, Joe Mcnerny, Ashley Quashie-Pownall, David Shin, Billy Hussey, Jerome Maledon, Jide Ogunbote, Ross White, Saheed Sankoh.

Subs used: Pekan Samsdeen, Jonny Targett, Steve Casey.
