It is with sadness that Woking FC heard recently of the passing away of Michael Stedman, a former Woking player, club secretary and member of the Club Board, aged 80.

Mick Stedman was born and bred in the town and educated at Woking Grammar School. He played for the Cards at youth, reserve and first team level, captained Surrey and appeared briefly for Leyton Orient. Mick also qualified as a referee in the 1980s and was a well known and respected official in the local leagues for several years before moving from the area

We extend our condolences to the Stedman family and all Michael’s friends at this sad time; the funeral and thanksgiving service is at Canterbury Baptist Church, St Georges Place, Canterbury, CT1 1UT at 2.30pm on Friday 29th April.
