Woking Football Club are saddened to hear of the recent death of Stan Gucia and would like to pass on condolences to all Stan’s friends and family at this sad time.
‘Stan the Man’ came to England from Poland at the end of the last war and lived in Brookwood, and lately Westfield. He was a season ticket holder and supporter for about 50 years, and could always be seen on the KRE.
A very quiet, humble and kind man, he passed away aged 90 but was still attending matches at the start of the 2015/16 season. Many supporters knew him and will miss him greatly.
Stan’s funeral is taking place on Monday 6th June at 2pm at Woking Crematorium, Hermitage Rd, Woking, GU21 8TJ. After the ceremony, you are welcome to join the family for some light refreshments at The Rowbarge, 39 St Johns Rd, Woking, GU21 7SA.
Flowers will be from the immediate family only. However, if you wish, donations in Stan’s memory would be welcome for either the Woking Hospice or for Cancer Research UK, and may be sent c/o the funeral directors: Cyril Lovegrove, 32 Guildford Rd, Woking, GU22 7QQ. Please make your wishes clear as to which organisation you would like to support. Alternatively, you can hand your donation directly to the funeral director present at the end of the funeral ceremony.
