Woking Football Club is delighted to announce that Joey Jones has signed a new deal with the club.
Joey, 23, first signed for the Cards in July 2014, having enjoyed a successful loan spell at the club the previous season from Yeovil Town. He started his career at Leicester City, aged 16, where he spent three years before joining Yeovil in June 2013.
The versatile player has played in both midfield and defence, and has made over 150 appearances in all competitions for Woking, scoring 12 goals including the club’s goal of the season earlier this year away to Forest Green Rovers with a spectacular long-range strike.
Joey commented: “Anthony is bringing a new philosophy to the club, there’s a big change, although I’m at the same club it feels like a different club in the sense that there’s a new manager in place, there’s new training, and I’m looking forward to it.
Obviously the fans will be here and they will be brilliant as usual again, and hopefully we can get loads of support this season and do something special.
Anthony Limbrick on adding Joey to his squad: “We are really pleased to be signing Joey as he is a player with good experience at this level for such a young age. I feel he has plenty of development yet to come and with the extra training this coming season he will definitely benefit from this.
We’ll shortly have an interview with Joey, visit either our Facebook page or Twitter at 12.30pm!
