Update on Crowd Unrest

10:58am, Wed 8th Aug 2018
Following crowd unrest, including a smoke bomb being thrown, at the initial away game at East Thurrock, which brought FA censure, Woking Football Club has taken swift action to avoid any repetition.

At last night’s game 8 people suspected of being involved were interviewed jointly by the Woking Safety Officer and the Police. This resulted in quite a number of them being banned from the Laithwaite Community Stadium for several matches pending further investigations. This included a 15-year-old, with the police taking time to see his parents.

The club reiterate that any misbehaviour such as we have seen will not be tolerated, either home or away, and the perpetrators are not welcome. We are however hopeful that following this action there will be no repetition.

Positively the general support in the first 2 games has been fantastic - loud and positive - a credit to the club and much appreciated, in particular, by the players.
