Woking Football Club is delighted to announce that Max Kretzschmar has signed a new contract.

The deal extends the midfielder's stay at the club for a third consecutive season, and fourth in total.

Max, 26, initially joined the club in 2016 and scored on the final day of the 2016/17 season against Dagenham & Redbridge to avoid relegation. He then moved to Dowse's Hampton in the Vanarama National League South, scoring 14 league goals in 2017/18 as the Beavers reached the Promotion Final, losing on penalties to Braintree.

Dowse joined newly-relegated Woking in the summer of 2018, and Max followed. He scored 14 league goals again and helped Woking to the Third Round of the Emirates FA Cup against Watford. Max and Dowse went one better with Woking, winning the 2019 Promotion Final.

Max scored the winner in Woking's Emirates FA Cup First Round win at Torquay United, November 2018

Injuries hampered Max's involvement in the 2019/20 season, however, he finished the season well with goalscoring performances at Notts County and Halifax Town. He signs a new contract looking to match those performances in the new 2020/21 season, combined with his new academy coaching role under manager Scott Harrison.

The deal is subject to FA approval.
