First of all, I would like to thank The Woking News and Mail for their incredible support of myself and my employers Woking Football Club, we have just agreed on a really exciting partnership for the upcoming season, part of this deal is this monthly column, it is my hope to provide an insight into what is going on at the club off the field!

I can genuinely feel the excitement levels starting to rise around the town about the signings Alan, Ian and Martin are making and this really helps me in my pursuit of turning around the commercial activities of the club. I want us to be successful, so bad it burns inside me. We must generate this income and be in a position to support the team. I believe in Dowse so much and know that over the next few years if we can get this right and give him and his team the proper support, these guys will deliver for us in a very big way.

It’s been an incredible start to my career at Woking, but there is really so much more to do across many different areas. Over the next couple of months, I believe there are three key targets we need to deliver on;

Build the Cardinals Business Club and for the club to become a business hub for networking. I can’t thank the following businesses enough; Laithwaite Financial Services, Boz’s Fruit and Veg, MKJ Group, Seymours Estate Agents, RAMS FM, Prince and Sons Family Butchers, Jewson, BCAS, Lovetts, Specsavers, Clauds Caffe, The Little Pasta Company, Ac Logic, Peacocks Building, Gordons School, Fitogether, Woking News & Mail, Arthurs Bridge Garage, Darling Signs, TopClick Marketing, Millennium Locksmiths, Jon Woozley Mortgages and loads of individuals not directly connected to a particular company, but they've been superb and really supported us.

Secondly for us to start staging regular events at the club, every season we have twenty-three home games, plus the cup games, we can’t manage a sustainable business on these numbers, we need to build a host of non-football related income streams if we are to achieve our ambitions of becoming a football league club.

For us to bring all catering in-house, serve up food and beverages we can all be proud of, a key component of this would be for us to make sure we deliver real value and quality for our fans. Two exciting plans for the future are a revamp of Moaners' Corner Café and a super exciting outdoor fan zone that will host an outside bar and catering outlet. The club possesses a huge appetite to deliver a better matchday experience. We truly value the support of our fans and I believe we need to show them this. Dave Curtis, who is an unsung hero, is working tirelessly on these and other developments.

There really is so much happening behind the scenes, to say it is an exciting time, would be a gross understatement, make sure you join us on our journey and let's bring the good times to Woking both on and off the pitch!!!

See you next month #COYCards 🔴⚪️
