The Cards Trust's 400 Club, so-called because at its inauguration there were approaching 400 Cards Trust members.
The 'Club' was set up by Cards Trust member, and now a Cards Trust board member, John Hooker in January 2016. John answered a request in a matchday programme asking for volunteers to help with fundraising. As he had experience of running a similar 'Club' for the British Legion, with the Board's approval he was able to quickly set the Club up.
Now in its 6th year, the 400 Club has raised £28,000, enabling it to pay out £8,000 in prizes and to support 'Boost the Budget' with £16,500. This support included hotel accommodation for the team at an away game in Torquay, Goal Posts for a training ground, and just this week a contribution to the new sprayer.
There are six bi-monthly draws; three numbers are randomly selected, first number wins £100, the second £75 and the third £50. At Christmas there's an additional draw when someone will win £500.
Only a third of the Trust Membership has joined the 400 Club so there is plenty of room for growth. If we can grow the 400 Club membership then we may be able to increase the Prize money, the frequency of draws, or both!
