On a cold day the Woking Football for All teams (both U16 and O16) applied themselves really well in the FA disability tournament playing flowing football in stages, creating numerous chances on goal in their matches with some great passing and approach play. There were particularly good examples of players unselfishly passing to create opportunities for their team mates. The matches were close, tight affairs and all of the players can be rightly proud of themselves. The team welcomed back Daniel Ayers who helped create a tight defence which continued throughout the day. A special mention of Caithan Kimberling who, aged 11, is the teams youngest player. He played with great determination against much older and bigger opposition.
The U16's, having competed in their tournament then also competed alongside the O16's in the adult competition. Both teams continued playing open, attactive football expressing themselves with some useful phases of passing play.
Over the course of the tournament the team won 5 matches and drew the majority of others. There were some magnificent goals scored for Woking by:
Charlie Jeeves, Joseph Elgar, Peter Smith, Charlie Sheridan, Michael Sears, Alex Elgar and Jack Spong.
Marc Grout was his usual inspirational self helping to instigate some of the Teams' most productive play.
Well done to all of the players who played:
Ryan Warner, Caithen Kimberling, Peter Smith, Daniel Ayers, Joseph Elgar, Marc Grout, Alex Elgar, Charlie Jeeves, Jack Spong, Charlie Sheridan, Michael Sears and David Batley.
