SATURDAY'S MATCHDAY PROGRAMME

Brian Caffarey - 26th February 2009

We?ve got another great matchday programme lined up for you on Saturday. Some of the highlights are:

Page 2

David Taylor writes about the Club?s situation: ?I know that Phil and Neil are working long and hard to pull in favours and to make sure we bring in players who can help us pick up much-needed wins?..?

Page 3

Phil Gilchrist analyses recent defeats: ?In some ways the story from each of those matches was similar, especially in our failure to hit the back of the opposition?s net, but in other ways there were differences, a few good and some bad?..? Phil also urges fans to support the players during the 90 minutes out there on the pitch.

Tom Barnardo recalls our encounter with the Brewers earlier this season

Pages 12-13

Brian Caffarey interviews Stadium Director, Peter Jordan, and finds just how much this self-effacing servant of the Club does to support Woking FC behind the scenes

Pages 16-17

Another Viking invasion! Roland Sannes of the Norwegian Woking FC Supporters? Club tells the amusing story of how the Club came to be formed and of his memories of great Woking games: ?We visited Loftus Road, the City Ground, Anfield Road, Ibrox, Villa Park and Kingfield. The greatest memory and what we were talking about back home in Norway? The Old Firm a bit, but what we really remembered was the old Kingfield Ground and the game between Woking and Wokingham Town???

Neil Bennett continues his superbly-crafted and evocative account of the eventful 1996-97 season, focusing on the great FA Trophy semi-final clash with Stevenage Borough: ?The difference post-Cockerill is that, whilst Stevenage have acquired a twenty-something's shark-fin haircut and a lithe girlfriend called Trudy who works in promotions, we sit in pubs and slur at uninterested barmaids, fall over in the toilets and return to our bedsit to eat Pot Noodles and cry a little. Lately, Boro are Boyd to our Berquez.? Surely, you can?t resist the rest? Worth the programme price in itself!

Pages 24-25

Lewis Hulatt profiles Michael Kamara

Rachel Formby starts another of her delightful KC Kat stories, KC?s motorway adventure

And, of course, the programme is packed full with superb photos from David Holmes and all the usual reports and previews.
