Charity Collection On Tuesday
27th July 2009
At Tuesday night's game against Aldershot we are having a charity collection on behalf of the Great Britain Deaf Women Football TeamAs part of UK Deaf Sport, the GBDWF are raising funds to enable Great Britain to send a Football team to the 2009 Deaflympics in Taipei.
Local girl, Camilla Willis, has been selected to represent Great Britain Deaf Women Football.
The Deaflympics is specifically for deaf and hard of hearing sports people, with over 4,500 athletes and officials from more than 94 worldwide countries taking part this year.
Due to London’s preparations for the 2012 Olympic Games, UK Deaf Sport will no longer receive Government funding towards the costs of attending the Deaflympics so they are seeking public support.
